The original VW Transporter Motorcaravan was purchased some years ago by a North West Bodyshop and they decided to restore it as a hobby for their own personal recreational use but also as a Concept Project to showcase their firm’s professional panel-beating and restoration skills.
Consequently they spent thousands of hours in their spare time welding and fitting new body panels, sills, doors, floor, outriggers as well as restoring all major mechanical components (Brakes, Steering, Suspension, Transmission, Gearbox) to original condition. The paintjob alone is an automotive work of art with countless coats of paint and lacquer applied to achieve a brilliant ‘better-than-new’ finish. The quality and attention to detail of the whole restoration is astonishing.
There is a Box file full of all the invoices and receipts, mainly for parts,
amounting to nearly £13,000! These include ‘Big Bore’ Red Engine by TES, 15” Fuch Black /Polished wheel rims with ‘Yokohama’ tyres, New ‘Calvados’ DeLuxe Interior by Van Wurks with Rock ‘n roll Bed.
